How to Run an Editorial Meeting

Does your news department hold regular editorial meetings? We were surprised to find out that many stations do not. Yes, editorial meetings take time, and in a small newsroom, may feel redundant to informal conversations. But they pay off in better journalism.

Editorial meetings are the best way to support your reporters, encourage them to do their best, and build the teamwork critical to improving the quality of your news product. The best stories come from the questions, brainstorming and collaboration that only happen in a group setting.
