The topic for the pilot was “Poverty with a View”, a phrase KNAU listeners use to describe life in their environmentally attractive but economically challenging intermountain west community.

A key theme expressed by KNPR listeners was their sense of isolation, particularly the difficulty of finding and keeping friends in a place with little sense of community.
